Good Morning and Welcome to Chicks With MDs!
My name is Lisa Whitty Bradley, M.D., and welcome to our site.
This dream has been a long time coming, and I am so glad that it has finally come to fruition.
The goal of this enterprise is to build a worldwide resource of information regarding healthcare, news, social events and a variety of other topics, that affect healthcare providers, patients, as well as the population at large.
Why is this needed….and why take this road?
We can only prepare for life, the best we can, but we cannot predict the path that the Universe has set for us to walk.
And this is what I discovered not too far into the life I had worked so hard to build.
Five years into my career as a Plastic & Reconstructive surgeon, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although I quickly recovered, following the initial diagnosis, I had to abandon my plan to venture into solo private practice, and instead focused my efforts on building this education based company, Chicks With MDs, LLC.
This in-person and web-based company has grown to address the needs and concerns, of not only patients, but physicians as well.
Although I was well trained in the clinical aspects of medicine, I was not prepared for the barrage of information and the complexity of data, contained within my own health, disability and malpractice policies.
Once I gained a considerable amount of knowledge and expertise regarding these many topics, I thought it essential to share this information with my colleagues and patients.
Knowledge truly is power. And the more we all learn and grow, the better off we all are, in terms of healthcare and its impact on all of our lives.
Our company, Chicks With MDs, LLC, is a professional think tank that focuses on the continued care, education and empowerment of patients.
It is my sincere belief that physician, and overall healthcare provider, education is key to achieving this goal in the care of patients. This is why I focus almost half of my time and attention on re-educating and updating physicians on topics that directly impact their practices.
